7th Annual Paddlefest a Success
A big "Thank You" from the Paddlefest Committe
We would like to thank all of our participants, volunteers, vendors and more for making the 7th Annual Ohio River Way Paddlefest another HUGE success. It's still early, but by all indications Paddlefest 2008 will now rank as the largest paddling event in the country. Thank you for making that happen! We are still getting our numbers together and will have all sorts of information for you very soon.
The weather this year was a bit more challenging than in the past. We would also like to thank everyone for rolling with the punches and still having a great time.
While we are still getting all our information together about this past weekend, please take a look at photos from this year's Paddlefest. You may see yourself in there, you know. We'll be putting up photos from the entire weekend all this week, so make sure to check back in often.
We are very sorry that water quality conditions as tested on Friday by the Ohio River Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) forced us to cancel the inaugural Great Ohio River Swim.
While we still have a few minor details to iron out with the Coast Guard, we are now planning to conduct the Great Ohio River Swim on Sunday, July 27 at Cincinnati's Serpentine Wall.

Canoe and Kayak Races on the Great Miami River from West Carrollton to Miamisburg, Demonstrations and Exhibits.
The first race starts at 9:00 a.m. in West Carrollton. All races finish in Downtown Miamisburg (at the site of the future riverfront park). Featuring competitive one-person and two-person canoe and kayak races along this scenic 5.5 mile stretch of the Great Miami River.
Watch a fun celebrity race plus have an opportunity to try out different boats after the races. Booths will be set up so you can learn more about the increasingly popular sport of paddling, river safety, and recreational opportunities in the area.
